Summer Camps
The cost for Camps are $75.00 each course and is offered one (1) day a week for 3 consecutive weeks - beginning May 2021. Individuals interested in both film and stage is encouraged to take the courses, whether you have experience or not.

All students are required to participate in live performances and receive ongoing mentoring through DMG and WCCCD DMP live performances.
Camps
The Playwright Camp is for each student to write the best 15 min. one-act play he or she is capable of writing. It is open to students both with a theater background and those without. This course will involve a number of preliminary exercises, the formatting of an industry standard script, the development of acts and scenes, characterization, and finally the reading and discussion of the student's work in seminar sessions. At the end of the camp, students will have a completed script for a trained Director from the Director's Camp to select from and placed into a showcase production. Playwright will attend a scheduled audition and select cast for their showcase.

Stage Directing Camp
The Stage Directing Camp is an introductory course in directing for the stage. Topics include the role and function of the director in contemporary theater; the basic tools of proscenium blocking and staging; such as composition, picturization, movement and gestures, structural script analysis, and basic actor coaching techniques. At the completion of the camp trained Directors will select a script from a Playwright graduate; from the Playwright camp and placed into a showcase production. Both Playwright and Director will attend a scheduled audition and select cast for their showcase.
