Playwright Camp
Service Description
This 3 week course is for anyone interested in stage and film directing. The Stage Directing Camp is an introductory course in directing for stage and film. Topics include the role and function of the director in contemporary theater; the basic tools of proscenium blocking and staging; such as composition, picturization, movement and gestures, structural script analysis, and basic actor coaching techniques. At the completion of the camp, trained Directors will select a script from a Playwright graduate; from the Playwright camp and placed into a showcase production. Both Playwright and Director will attend a scheduled audition and select cast for their showcase. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the course
