Intro to Scripwriting

Service Description

This 3 week Scriptwriting course is for anyone that has an interest in writing for stage and film. The Playwright Camp is for each student to write the best 15 min. one-act play he or she is capable of writing. It is open to students both with a theater background and those without. This course will involve a number of preliminary exercises, the formatting of an industry standard script, the development of acts and scenes, characterization, and finally the reading and discussion of the student's work in seminar sessions. At the end of the camp, students will have a completed script for a trained Director from the Director's Camp to select from and placed into a showcase production.  Playwright will attend a scheduled audition and select cast for their showcase. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the course.
